Oregon

For me, landscape photography is a challenge because I like taking photos of people.  Unlike portraits, I really struggle with composition so I usually just pack my Powershot and take a break from photography.  However, I decided to try out landscape photography while visiting Oregon.  I am happy that I gave it a try.

I'm pretty sure Oregon was just showing off and the photos below have very little to do with my photography skills.  Either way, i'm pleased and can't wait to frame a few for my home.  Enjoy!

When I walked up to the falls for the picture below I thought that I would get that magical picture where the bridge was completely clear.  At noon.  On a Saturday.  Obviously I was dreaming.

The next two photos were taken only 10 minutes apart at a winery in the Willamette Valley.  How can the sky fill with clouds so fast?

My mother really loves lighthouses.  When I heard that there was a lighthouse near Cannon Beach, I was super excited about the amazing photos I would get of it.

See the rock in the picture below?  That was the lighthouse.  Oops.

We were lucky and witnessed two very beautiful sunsets while visiting Cannon Beach.  Stunning, to say the least.

Making Friends

I had the honor of photographing this family a few days ago.  The mother and I have known about each other for a few years through a mutual friend, so it was fun to finally get to meet her and the family.  I see a friendship in the making.

Here are a few of my favorites from their session.

And here are the same photos in black and white... Enjoy!
