About Me

My first photo class was in high school. It was a great experience but not exactly the moment I wanted to learn more about photography.  It was really just a way to hang out around Peter, my (now) husband.  My interest in photography was directly related to the DSLR I bought Pete for his birthday (oops).

My nieces, nephews, friends, family, and a rewarding relationship with the Williamson County Humane Society has allowed me to explore portrait photography (Check out the featured heroes! page if you are interested in adopting a pet).  It keeps me busy and fulfills my funky yet creative side.

I also Keep Austin Weird at a day job, support shopping and eating local, garden year-round, refinish furniture, run, and swim. In the evenings I attend class for my Master's degree in Technical Communications.

FAQ

What kind of equipment do you use?

Pentax! I am a bit of a rebel in the photography world.

Do you shoot weddings?

I do not shoot weddings.  I have no experience so I suggest you find a skilled professional because there is no re-do for you big day.

However, I offer engagement and bridal sessions.

Do you have online proofing?

No.  You will receive a CD with all edited images. I remove duplicates, blurry photos, or poor shots and give you printing and coyright permissions.

Do you use photoshop?

All photos are retouched in photoshop.

Did you go to school for photography?
I went to Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas... but not for photography.  My masters degree is in Technical Communications.

How long have you been a photographer?

Only a few years.

Do you have a studio?

I do not have a studio. I prefer natural light photography. In many ways I have a lot to learn about photography.

Do you have employees?

My only employee is unpaid and married to me.

Do you work with any other photographers?

Not usually.  Other than sharing tips and advice on blogs, I do not work with other photographers.

What camera would you recommend?

I would recommend you go to your local camera shop and speak with someone knowledgeable.
